Hi

While this is in Australia and too far away for me to attend, I thought the
CD-ROM may be of use, though at the current A$ <-> $US exchange rate, they
may pay you the A$20.

To the Palm Pilot users: Does it do web browsing?... what's it like?

thanks
Bruce

Web Accessibility Information Day (WAI DAY)
22 September 1998

Do you know if your web site works on a Palm Pilot, WebTV or when a screen
reader speaks it out to a person who is print disabled?
Do you care? Why does it matter?

On Web Accessibility Information Day (22 September 1998), the Sunrise
Research Laboratory and the Disabilities Liaison Unit at RMIT will be
launching the OZeWAI CD-ROM.

The OZeWAI CD-ROM contains:

+ Liddy Nevile's presentation on universal accessibility and the
benefits of universally accessible Web sites;

+ International guidelines for developing universally accessible Web
sites;

+ Tutorials for using HTML 4 and CSS 2 to develop universally
accessible Web sites;

+ Examples of what different Web sites look like in different
browsing situations; and

+ Shareware to help you build and test your Web sites.

It only takes one person per organisation to get the message and start the
process of change. We think it might be the web master, the IT guy, the PR
people or whoever is concerned that your organisation has a functional web
site.

You can get a copy of the OZeWAI CD-ROM in two ways:

** Make a Virtual Registration **

If you would like to receive a 'Show Bag' of information, including the
OZeWAI CD-ROM, you may make a virtual registration at our web site. We
will send you the CD-ROM, along with some other information contributed by
interested parties.

The cost of the CD-ROM is $20.

** Come to WAI DAY **

On Web Accessibility Information Day (WAI DAY), Liddy Nevile will be
presenting information on why universal access is crucial to the success of
your web site. Take an hour or two to see that there is a growing problem,
that the tide can be stemmed easily, and that you can tell others about all
this and help solve the problem. Please come to a one hour presentation
promoting universal web access. After the presentation, you will be able to
speak with the people who are working to solve the problem of universal
access.

The cost of attending is $20 and you will receive a free copy of the OZeWAI
CD-ROM.

** Who **
Web designers, librarians, public relations people or whoever is concerned
that the organisation has a functional web site.
