That is a large part of the reason why I have not bought a Mac: software
companies do not offer a reasonably priced path (free would be nice) for
acquiring their software for a 2nd OS, at least from what I've seen so far.
If the deals exist, they must be in the fine print somewhere, or buried in a
corporate web site.

I know that some software comes on a dual (Mac/PC) format CD, which I
suppose would translate into "you've already got the other OS version,
dummy". Gotta do a little tally of my CD's and see which have both versions.

Wouldn't switch until OS 8.5 comes out, though...and I'd still have to wait
for OSX to get the stability NT Workstation offers for desktop apps (I
hardly ever have to reboot NT Workstation). Throw in the fact that so many
apps come out on Win first, or Win only. I'm rooting for Apple success, so
no need to start a Mac/Win thread.

And I certainly can't wait until more Linux apps are wandering around. BTW,
how's WP for Linux?

A little peeve. Why do so many web developers design sites that are fixed
width and not centered? For example, this little site:

http://www.apple.com/

I don't see a good reason why it should be shoved over to the left.

Another fav site of mine (mostly for it's killer wine database),
WineSpectator, recently did a makeover that used this agenda, too:

http://www.winespectator.com/

Looking at that site, I don't see any reason why all the white space has to
be on the right hand side. Is there Usability research to back up the
decision? Isn't the lack of white space on the left side causing a
maximization of universal entropy?

Glad to hear it, Kathy...and will be glad to see it when you put your
braindump online. ;)
