Interesting... whereas I found the old version chronically frustrating, to 
the point where I eventually stopped using it.  (I also saw it cited recently 
as an example of "lousy interfaces" in an article about site design, so I 
guess others felt similarly.)

But yes, I suppose once you're accustomed to a given procedure, logical 
or not, you come to think of it as functional and unremarkable -- kinda like 
Windows, really :)  Or the Web itself for that matter... as Jakob Nielsen 
asked in a recent column, "Why do so many of us continue to use 
something this bad?"  His point being, among others, that we put up with 
the many frustrations of using the Web in exchange for the occasional 
nuggets of gold we find.
