I have only received it once. You should have received at least two
copies.

In the above case, you will get two copies, because the To: line
sends it to the list, where it will eventually be forwarded to you. The
Cc: line sends another copy directly to you, which will arrive first.
However, sometimes mail protocols loop. There are times I have
recieved several copies of e-mails, when only one was sent. The cause is
often a break in the transmission - acknowledgement handshaking that
tries to insure you get all of an e-mail before the systems upline of you
purge their copies. If it breaks, another transmission is attempted by
the sender's machine, or some machine along the way. In that case, you may
receive a partial copy and a whole copy, or two apparently whole copies
for each break.
Sometimes, a bad e-mail will cause some mail handlers to break
repeatedly, causing you to get many copies of an e-mail, and nothing else
from your mail spool. This often requires intervention either by
yourself, or your ISP, to clear the bad e-mail. I have had such things
happen many times, mostly from some really idiotic new spammer.
Complaints to their ISP usually work.
