I've also been doing a large amount of table cell colours recently and yes,
is a solution, BUT I did notice that IE4.01 doesn't need to have
anything in a cell and will show the colour. I mention this as you may do a
design thinking that things won't show if they don't have a space in them
but they will in IE4.01 (haven't tested other IE's). To get around that
problem I explicitly set the cell colour to the "background" so that you
can't see it.
Sorry, I can't show you the page... as usual it's in a protected area. I
needed a lot of coloured bits to do a web based job tracking system
(ColdFusion and Access) and present reports. The colours help define areas
for different purposes and also aid in the reading of the reports.
