Wow,
Here's a rundown on my latest efforts to download IE4 service pack 1:
Using IE4 on NT:
1. Went to MS site, selected component to download.
2. Clicked on server to dl from
3. Small message box popped up saying something about "Active Setup"
4. Error message popped up, saying "There was an error, you may hit the back
button and try again"
5. Tried that, didn't work. No explanation of error.
6. No alternative method of obtaining files was given.
Tried it with NS4:
1. Went to MS site, selected component to download ("Add on Windows Internet
Features for Internet Explorer")
2. Got popup message saying "These components are not available for your
computer"
Seriously! That's it! End of the line.
Well, not really, but for a typical user, I'll bet they wouldn't start
looking for the files via ftp, which is where I'm going next.
Doesn't anyone test this sh$t?
