I too, get an awful lot of hits on my chat pages. I plan to have the
chat page e-mail the last N people, telling them the contents of the last
post, so they won't be checking in as often.
I would like to let them e-mail TO the chat page, and have the page
accept it as a post.
One thing we have had to do, is to show that we know where the
visitor is from, so that he or she will not impersonate someone else, and
will not commit acts of vandalism, as has happened in the past. This is
particularly important when dealing with health/medical topics... as well
as dealing in areas where people may be suffering from transient brain
dysfunctions due to blood quality going out of spec. Kind of like the CPU
occasionaly adding instead of multiplying due to low voltage... We now
have several volunteers who e-mail me whenever someone has gone off the
edge.

Thankyou. I get too many chat entries, and many from unauthorized
pages that have not included the pointer to the correct chat file. (Been
thinking of adding chat pages to the statistics pages too...)
