    Yes, but you have to feed that daemon, otherwise he won't do it.  In
the vortex tube, it means pumping the air into the tube.  Whether this is
more efficient or less efficient than a heat pump of the freon type,
depends upon pressures involved.  But it is free of freon gas, wich is a
plus.
