I don't have a copy, but I do have a URL; imagine my disappointment
when I discovered, some time after you first posted the letter, that it can
be found on the "Urban Legends" site, classified as "false".
It was hilarious, no doubt, and did have a ring of plausibility to it -- I could
quite easily imagine a droll curator exchanging tongue-in-cheek
correspondence of that sort with some equally droll member of the public.
Alas, it never happened. None of the people, places or departments
mentioned in the letter actually exist. Still, funny stuff.
