Kathy, apparently there are no laws against child pronography in Japan.
Before we all react in shock, keep in mind that it is likely that in
Japanese society this has not historically been a significant problem, and
laws were perhaps not deemed necessary. Of course, with the Net
obliterating national borders, countries like Japan are being forced to
deal with issues that they had never considered before.

The headline is misleading. In fact, the Chinese govt. is fighting a losing
battle to exert control over the Net, and they certainly do not have "tight
control" of it - a fact which gives me no small measure of pleasure <G>.
The Net _will_ change the world in ways we cannot imagine in our lifetime.
