Brent, there is actually a utility called Post-It Notes (uses the 3M logo) that
some folks at my office use. I've never used it myself, but from what I observe
it does exactly what you are asking. I'm sure it's a commercial package, but
probably not very expensive ($20?). Are you not aware of it, or have you
rejected it for some reason?
P.S. If you have rejected it I'd like to know why, as it is on several machines
I do support for and your reasons may be pertinent.
