Yes, it is interesting, but I question how accurate. I tested
it with a couple of URL's where I know the links to the site and
the online news and got zip. I then tested it with our company
GAP Enterprises, Ltd. (gapent.com) vs Microsoft and got the following:
Inbound links: zero for both
Newsgroup Buzz - GAP 11,580 MS 2,716,280 (yet the GAP bar was
much higher than MS)
Online news articles: GAP 3,298 MS 0
Now, I would like to believe that MS does have some online news
articles and some inbound links. If I do a reverse link search
on Infoseek I find 429 pages linked to us and 105,506 linked to Microsoft.
So, the theory may be good, but no cigar.
