if there are any rules a well-intentioned soul could break, i'm pretty sure
Brent, i, or one of the other regular blabbermouths would've shattered
them by now. ;-)
to the best of my knowledge, the rules of engagement are roughly:
- no blatant advertising
- no 'please link to me' requests
- if you really go out of your way to be obnoxious, condescending, or
vicious to another member, somebody (see 'blabbermouths', above) will
be happy to cleat you 'til your remains can be used to strain tea.
other'n that, if you think it's interesting, the rest of us probably will,
too. welcome! speak freely! i'll take all the protective cover i can
get. ;-)

As for Google -- yeah, awesome service. I literally use almost nothing
else now. Alta Vista's indexes are still a little more comprehensive, and so
will turn up obscure names and phrases on occasion that Google doesn't,
but otherwise I use it 90% of the time now.
