It is on the list, someone else's list. They MIGHT get to it in a year
or three... I will be looking at the PERL extensions tonight and tomorrow.
The application looks like compiled code, not our department, etc.
But I will say this, this company has everything on the internal web!
Wonderful, till you try to put your own page out there, and some corporate
droid server addition warps all your local URL's, tries to HTML-ize a your
instrument data, etc. Follow the corporate methodology or else! And the
corporate search engine hits my workstation every night to index
everything. (But it does look for the robots.txt files.)
Aside from the server additions, this is the way I have been talking
about doing things for years! Anything generated by any test jig is
available on the intranet within minutes, and in the intranet (intraweb?)
search engine within 24 hours. IBM could probably learn something from
these guys.
