well, IBM has the advantage of building the hardware, too.  Not
surprising to me it "won" if I assume that it was running on a 100% IBM
RS/6000 with nothing but IBM parts and software.  Gives them a bit of an
advantage.  ;)

As a user-friendly OS, I'd rank it one step above NT, which is one step
above entering commands directly into machine language by hand in my
book  :P
