Urb's post on the Y0K problem reminded me I'd been meaning to post
something else on those lines . . . this is a good opportunity to bring
up my latest little concern/tidbit *grin*:
The Y6B problem
A little term we coined in the office for the Year of Six Billion
People, which will happen this year. have been researching the heck out
of our subsite on this issue of late, and suddenly Y2K seems kind of
silly (eventual global ecosystem collapse just seems much more
threatening :P). You can find nice versions of the population clock
for including in sites at:

(Another interesting one along those lines (while we're at it) is the UN
AIDS clock:

Doesn't move as fast, but still kind of scary.)
Anyway, my socially-responsible plug-this-into-your-site plug for the
week . . . wonder what it would take to get the media to give Y6B equal
time . . .? :P
