Just received this message from a friend at Starseed, the company which
runs WebRing and which was purchased by Geocities a short while ago (and
which to my knowledge has *never* had a profitable month):

(http://www.geocities.com) recently for $30 million.
well... pull up a chair and have a seat cause we have more in store for you.
we have now been acquired by Yahoo!, yes THE Yahoo! (http://www.yahoo.com)
for $4.6 billion. if you haven't heard of Yahoo! you must have been in
hibernation for the last five years!
this is really incredible news and i am very proud to be part of a ground
