Hi Linux experts,
I'm having a problem with installation of Red Hat 5.2 --
My machine --
A 486/DX2-66, 32MB RAM, Two SCSI drives 500MB and 1GB
1. Disk one is formatted for and has DOS installed. The
other is blank. Because Linux didn't recognize my CD I've
copied the Linux base and RPMs to directory on my DOS hard drive
like so:
c:\Redhat
c:\Redhat\base
c:\Redhat\rpms
2. Using 'druid' I've partitioned my second drive with the
partitions, root (100MB), swap (60MB), usr (545MB), and home
(300MB).
3. I'm now sitting at the 'Select Partition' window. Four
partitions show:
a. /dev/sda1 My DOS drive
b. /dev/sdb1 Linux Root
c. /dev/sdb5 Linux /home
d. /dev/sdb6 Linux /usr
4. I have a. highlighted
5. It is asking for the directory holding Red Hat however it
will not accept anything I enter in the "Directory holding Red
Hat" box. I get an error message: "Device sda1 does not
appear to contain a Red Hat installation tree."
Any suggestions gratefully accepted!
