Jack, there is a trade-off in size -- the PPIII is a true "hand held" -- it will fit
in your shirt pocket -- and frankly, I don't want to use mine for e-mail. It's my
brains -- schedule, to-do, notes from meetings, address list(s). I can turn it into a
GPS system this summer when I ride x-country (if I decide to do that). At that time, I
might buy the modem and it would be my "on road" computer.

I integrate seamlessly with Schedule+ -- of course I had to buy a third-party piece of
software (can anyone say MONOPOLY for getting this functionality with a MSFT product
free only with corollary oeprating system).

Re "amount of software" -- I find it hard to believe that there is software available
for the MSFT series that's not available for the PPIII. But hey, I prefer a Mac, too,
and have never been swayed by the "more is better" argument --- quality over quantity.
<shrug>

AND -- I can integrate with the Mac desktop & the PC desktop ....
