Yeah, he's a fairly funky critter all in all.
Buddy is four months old at present, and about 10" long. Roughly
9.9888" of that is tail <g> (Well, 2/3 anyway.)
As a male, he should end up between 30" and 36" eventually, again,
mostly tail. I'm building him a larger terrarium this weekend, as
he'll quickly outgrow his present 10-gallon tank.
Lizards are fascinating and fairly low-maintenance pets. Well, as
long as you don't mind graphical demonstrations of the food chain at
work in your living room... some of my friends and relatives seem a
little squeamish about watching Buddy chow down on a big wriggly
cricket, for some reason.
As with most of the larger lizards he will tolerate a certain amount
of human contact and handling, though he's still a little skittish.
Speaking of the food chain, my cat Zeke seems to find Buddy pretty
interesting at his current size too :) Have to boot the cat out when
I handle Buddy, for now anyway.
Maybe next week I'll post some pictures of my dwarf African frogs,
little aquatic beasties who co-exist quite happily with my tankful of
mollies, tetras and rainbow sharks.
