This one truly blows me away. You have to spend $100 a month for 36
months at their mall (which has all of three functioning storefronts so
far, from what I see) that is located in Israel. If you don't spend it,
they charge you $100 anyway.

You have to spend the $100 in at least 4 $25 increments at 4 different
stores (of the three *grin*), which I would assume means you're more
likely spending $30+ (since we all know few will have items priced right
at $25). Shipping estimates, anyone?

And you have to do this via their proprietary $19.95 a month dial-up
service.

By applying some math, we get:

36 months x $100 minimum ($120 realistic if you actually buy things)
$3600
36 x $20 for the access $ 720

Total cost of Free IMac $4320

Cost of an Imac bought with a credit card at 21% interest over 3 years
$1799

What you can buy at varesearch for all those bills:

Dual PII 450 with 128 megs RAM, 4.5 gig scsi drive, ethernet, cdrom and
full linux redhat with corel office suite :P

Weird stuff happens when you put the words 'free' and 'internet' in the
same sentence . . . ("I've got this land in Florida . . . I'll give it
to you for $40K an acre, and will throw in a FREE Imac with unlimited
Internet access!") :P
