Be that as it may, 'cols' is not an attribute for <table> in HTML 
4.0.  There is a table element 'col', which itself takes various 
attributes, but no 'cols'.

However, <frameset> can of course take a 'cols' attribute, although 
its value would be a comma-delimited list of widths, not a single 
number such as "2".

'cols' can also be used to specify the visible width of a <textarea>.
