Thanks everyone who provided airline links. I spent time in Priceline,
CheapTicket and Travelcity. All very nicely done sites. I preferred
Travelcity's approach of showing you what's available, then letting you
choose from several different itineraries.

 I found that all the prices seemed comparable to what my travel agent
quoted, and vary greatly depending on day of week and time of day. He told
me that a flight into Medford has been discontinued, so that the cheaper
tickets sell faster, and advised me to book six weeks in advance.
Unfortunately, he told me that three weeks too late. I'm having a hard time
swallowing $350-400 roundtrip from Salt Lake City to southern Oregon, but if
I don't go for it, I may miss my once-a-year chance to see my son -:(
