How do you calculate how much space your store needs. It is much
easier to increase your disk space than to increase you floor space.

I would not have much respect for a company that offers "unlimited
bandwidth"; it is not reality. iserver.com offers reasonable
unlimited bandwidth. This I can understand. I believe they will
request that a site move up the ladder if it consumes a lot of
bandwidth; they should; perhaps they should be more up front about
this (just about my only complaint against them).

But, but how do you translate bandwidth into responsiveness? I am
looking at a quotation from Abovenet. It was suggested that I buy the
plan with bandwidth in the 95th percentile of 128Kbs. I have no idea
what that means, unless it means what I think: that they will
transfer up to a maximum of 128K per second, or , it would be as if
my website were connected via dual channel ISDN. Or perhaps it means
that they will transfer what ever is needed based on requests but
that if I exceed 128K per second for too long then they will have to
charge me more ... or they will simply queue requests ... or ....

I currently get an unknown bandwidth rate from an ISP that has
multiple T-1's. I much prefer the known to the unknown. But how
could I explain to someone that the above measured rate is better
than the unmeasured rate? And how would I know I would be telling
the truth? I think that the unmeasured rate might or might not be
better all depending on how may houses are hooked up to the pipe
whereas in the other case I always know exactly what I am getting.
