I run into this at work occasionally, where we post a lot of PDF 
files... the problem is usually fixed by "optimizing" the file  using 
Exchange.  Adobe has a tech note on the general topic of blank 
screens in Acrobat, which describes optimizing among various other 
possible solutions:
