Mac Standard is 1.8 Uncorrected is PC gamma 2.5 Page-white is not really a gamma at all but a white point shift added to 1.8 OS 8.5 will allow a 2.2 gamma to be set up, 8.1 won't without the John Knorr GAMMA control panel from Photoshop CD. So, what you friend needs is either System 8.5 or GAMMA Control Panel + GammaToggle FKEY.
