When trying to build cyrus-imapd-2.2.12 from source on any amd64 the configure script fails. Here are some specifics: On FreeBSD and Gentoo on an amd64 platform when cyrus-imapd-2.2.12 is installed from the ports collection, it installs fine, with no problems and runs fine. However, the requirements of our company necessitate certain patches to be implemented in order to extend the functionality of cyrus-imap. After successfully applying the patches, I then go to run the configure script. Here is the output from the FreeBSD amd64 box when configure is run:
***********************
mailer01# ./configure
checking build system type... Invalid configuration `amd64-unknown-freebsdelf6.0': machine `amd64-unknown' not recognized configure: error: /usr/local/bin/bash ./config.sub amd64-unknown-freebsdelf6.0 failed
***********************
The same thing happens on a Gentoo amd64 platform:
***********************
Gen2DB cyrus-imapd-2.2.12 # ./configure
checking build system type... Invalid configuration `x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu': machine `x86_64-unknown' not recognized
configure: error: /bin/sh ./config.sub x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu failed
***********************
However, there appears to be no configure issues when the configure script is run on a Fedora Core 4 amd64 platform. If anyone has run into this problem, knows of a patch, or anything, the help would be greatly appreciated.
