Working! (I think) My new Ubuntu-based Web-Cyradm (WCA) system is receiving mail over the big internet! I can also send from this server, and use it from a webmail app (Horde) that I have running elsewhere.
I had to set the following directive in /etc/mysql/my.cnf, ---------- [mysqld] old_passwords ---------- Thanks for this tip, there is *no way* I would have figured this out. Also, a Google search on 'private/anvil' reveals this message from the god himself (Wietse Venema) - message here: http://www.wibble.co.uk/archives/postfix/2004/mar/msg00100.html ------------------ People interfere with the Postfix installation process must execute this by hand: sh /etc/postfix/post-install upgrade-configuration Wietse ------------------ I hope to post a short outline of how to install on Ubuntu Dapper later this weekend. In the meantime, here is my configuration: Postfix 2.2.10 MySql 5.0.19 Apache 2.0.55 mod-php-4 Cyrus-imapd-2.2 Cyrus-sasl2 (libsasl2) libpam-mysql all from the Ubuntu repositories. The main problems I have had involve the MySql old-password issue (that is, incompatibility between mod-php-4 and MySql 5) and different names for various Cyrus items on Ubuntu, like the missing mkimap script to create the actual Cyrus mailboxes which instead is '/usr/sbin/cyrus-makedirs' and deliver, which Ubuntu calls cyrdeliver. Again, thanks to everyone for their help here. /Larry Honig ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent from the [EMAIL PROTECTED] Servers. ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent from the [EMAIL PROTECTED] Servers. _______________________________________________ This mailing list is hosted and supported by bit-heads GmbH | http://www.bit-heads.ch _______________________________________________ Web-cyradm mailing list [email protected] http://www.web-cyradm.org/mailman/listinfo/web-cyradm
