if you want to be able to have email addresses/usernames like [EMAIL PROTECTED] then you need unixhierarchysep.  if you dont care about the '.' then you dont need it.  Might as well use it just in case.  As for FQUN, search the archives, it's all already fully documented.

Turning unixhierarchysep back on changes the postfix error message to:

May 11 20:20:24 xmail lmtpunix[9002]: IOERROR: opening
/var/spool/imap/user/phil^mountaintopherbs^com/cyrus.header: No such file
or directory

Notice the disparity now in directory hierarchy?

Weird!  I like the new INBOX dir much better, and is much more maintainable.

But reading email now comes from a different location that delivering
email. :(
