Hello again,

After browsing the net, I've saw the archive about the accountuser table, username to be exact is the topic. The archived email was instructing to remove the binany data type in the declaration of username. Instead of using the declaration of username varchar(255) binary NOT NULL default ' ', I removed the binary then created the table again.

I kept the username_tolower and lmtp_downcase_rcpt in imapd.conf and set it to no. I executed the cyradm --user 4356Z localhost or cyradm --user 4356z localhost, I got connected.

My questions are:

1) Why the binary data type affects the authentication of the user, especially in using case sensitive user account.

2) After removing the binary data type and the username_tolower and lmtp_downcase_rcpt was set to no or yes(after updating the imapd, I re-started the daemon), I could be able to log in using upper or lower case character in my account?

3) Does anyone here have had encounter any similar scenario or any possible idea in order to fix it?

Thanks again,

John
