Hello,

What is wrong? Why can I log in as cyrus but not as admin?

# sasldblistusers2
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: userPassword
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: userPassword

Have you try to look like this?

#testsaslauthd -u username -p password?

yes, and I found one weird thing, maybe you can tell me what this is supposed to mean.

Settings are all as below said, and it the weird thing is it worked for user cyrus and not for user administrator. I tried it as user vnh (which is just another user on the system - but contrary to the others not in sasldb. (which I checked with sasldblistusers2) and i could login with no problems. when I tried to reset the pwd of administrator (

#saslpasswd2 administrator

)and relogin I still couldn't login:
0: NO "authentication failed"

When I set the password with passwd I could login afterwards. So it looks as if it doesn't check the sasldb for the users but the /etc/passwd . How come? imapd.conf says:

sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd
sasl_mech_list: LOGIN PLAIN
...
admins: cyrus
postmaster: postmaster
allowanonymouslogin: no
allowplaintext: yes
...
unixhierarchysep: yes ...
