Well, I'm the guilty party, and I think I can understand what you mean.
;-)

Actually, I did contribute a little bit to the Hurd years ago, but it
turns out that translating web pages is almost all I can do now given
the amount of free time I have.  But I do believe in the Hurd (in
particular, the L4/Hurd hackers have great plans) and in Esperanto as
well (like Free software, it brings independence and, to some extent,
equality to its "users").  Hence the translation.  :-)
