vgaarb (vga_arbiter) can guarantee at least a console (tty, prompt)
temporarily on the background while the context are changed/switched by the
new module/driver.

Not bad idea call minimal grub and recovery_mode instances
(paralelized/virtualized/compartmentalized/containerized) to do the job at
time-shot.
