:) Sure you don't like it - It is not targeted towards Cent-OS 5 users...

Cent-OS 5 comes with python 2.4 - this can't even run web2py...
That's why Cent-OS 5 users MUST install a second instance of python
alongside the existing one.
For that there is the existing script - afaik it works for Cent-OS 5 users.

Cent-OS 6 comes with python 2.6.6 that is more than sufficient for the
grate majority of developers.
The amount of breakage that installing a second instance of python can
cause to the system can be severe.
It's not just that YUM brakes, much of this linux-distribution's os is
tightly-coupled with the built-in instance of python.

This new version of the script is for Cent-OS 6 users that prioritize the
simplicity and robustness of using the existing python,
over the flexibility/features of having python 2.7 alongside it.
It may be a debatable trade-off from some perspectives, but it is a
legitimate trade-off, and one that lots (if not most) developers would
prefer.

It is not meant to be an "updated version of" or a "replacement to" the
currently existing iteration of the script.
It very well could be a separate script that people can use for cent-os 6
versions.
