How? I thought I fixed it by applying the patch. IIRC the welcome app worked on 2.7 with a clean testing vm (and a sqlite connection). Perhaps the scrip should set 2.6 by default and warn the user about the unstability of 2.7.x until they fix that in a new Python release.
