No one opened a ticket so I fixed it a few months ago

On a recent you can use auth.basic

auth.basic(basic_auth_realm="<any string you like>")


BONUS: *the realm string can be changed runtime to allow the user to be
logged out i.e. the browser will ask authentication credentials again*
