Okay... at this point I am getting *very* confused. Sorry. I deleted 'my' version of routes.py in both <web2py-root> and in <application_name> directories. In <web2py-root>, I copied 'routes.example.py' to 'routes.py', copied the line that looked like: default_application = 'init' # ordinarily set in base routes.py to a new line, changed 'init' to 'my_contacts', and commented out the original line. No other changes were made to the file. Still doesn't any different than before; the urls always show the controller name (default).
