I am using the Windows web2py.exe binary version Version 2.4.7-stable+timestamp.2013.05.29.16.40.45. I need to know if web2py.exe supports multilingual, case-independed matches, such as SELECT FIELD LIKE 'à' -- should match when field value is 'À' (uppercase) and field is defined as FIELD TEXT COLLATE NOCASE
I came across this post https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!msg/web2py/Q_5i1tozCDM/MmARCLm81GYJ "SQLite DLL with ICU ' support multilingua LIKE statements and ORDER BY", which seems to imply that I need to replace the sqlite.dll in the web2py distribution with a custom-built one from http://www.urban-eye.com/pagesqliteicu.html (announcement "Version 3.7.4 of sqlite3 dll with icu 3.8 now available"). So do I really need to replace sqlite.dll to get multilingual support? Which version of sqlite.dll ships with web2py 2.4.7 and is it going to ship with that version through a couple of web2py upgrades? My intent is to stay away from custom web2py builds as much and as long as possible, provided that I can get multilingual support.
