Totally agree with Anthony about associating well-named slugs to sections. In the longer term, it is much much important for the book to be optimally organised than worrying about old links. Having said that, it wouldn't be too difficult to 'pin' current chapters to specific slug placeholders, and then we have the best of both worlds.
