Hi scausten, I got the same error when install on my vps with ubuntu 12.04 
LTS:


./setup-web2py-ubuntu.sh: line 5: syntax error near unexpected token 
`newline'
./setup-web2py-ubuntu.sh: line 5: `<!DOCTYPE html>'

how did you solve them? Can you help me? Thanks for your help!
