I am going to China for a conference July 26-31 but I am planning to leave as much as a week early and travel around (July 20-25). I do not like to travel alone but my wife and child cannot accompany me for logistic reasons.
My ideal vacation would consist of traveling around by train as much as I can, visit historical places, have dinner with friends, talk about web2py, sleep on a couch. I am willing to give seminars if there is a decent audience. I cover my own travel costs within 500miles around Beijing but I may need advice with accommodation. I have never been there before so I will take any advice you have for me. Feel free to email me personally since this issue does not really belong to the list and sorry for the intrusion but I know there are a lot of Chinese users here.
