This would work. Yet it will not preserve the order in the list of options.
To preserve the order replace
options = {'Apple':T('Apple'),'Banana':T('Banana'),'Cherry':T('Cherry')}
with
options = (('Apple',T('Apple')), ('Banana',T('Banana')), ('Cherry',T(
'Cherry')))
