I wouldn't bother, you shouldn't be using twitter login if you want to merge on email accounts as twitter does not provide you with the user's email. So, you have conflicting requisites, you want to merge social logins based on email and you want to have twitter login. It's possible, you can always ask the user for his email, but if you're going to all that trouble just make him register. Clients need to be made aware that using twitter to login for websites is mostly stupid unless your website is actually based around interacting with twitter as most websites end up needing the user's email address anyway.
