Yes. Note, custom.begin and custom.end are a bit odd in that they are not web2py HTML helper objects -- this is because they do not represent a complete HTML element (one includes the opening form tag, and the other includes the closing form tag). Rather than manipulate form.custom.begin, it would probably be easier to just insert the relevant HTML into the view manually. As for form.custom.end, do you really need to do anything with that? It's just the hidden fields that web2py needs plus the </form> tag. Anyway, you can get just the hidden fields with form.hidden_fields().
