I think Mozilla Persona (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/persona/) may be an interesting sign in technology in web2py.
There are lot of plugins for python frameworks, in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Persona/Libraries_and_plugins, may be an web2py plugin would be interesting.
