I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with AppJet (www.appjet.com) But they offer a super cool framework/platform that allows users to create apps easily on their servers. Web2Py is way more powerful, and just as easy. The projects are similar in that they both simplify web development, and provide an easy in-browser approach to coding.
I can assume with the blistering fast speed of web development using web2py, you could easily write a small service that allowed the same functionality as appjet. A place where newbies can sign-up, and away they go writing code and new apps. I'm not sure of the details of what type of server costs would be associated. But I know i would be willing to pitch in for a service like this. Especially with the hype of netbooks, with no viable development environment for them - This could be a great opportunity to move development to the trendy 'cloud' ;) Also- AppJet will be closing down the hosting service so this could be a good time to fill the shoes of a successful product. Just a thought! Any takers? Feedback? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "web2py Web Framework" group.
