You made a typo:
for row in db(db.categorias*.id > 0*).select():
response.menu.append((T(row.nombre)))
Fix in bold.
BTW you probably want something like this
for row in db(db.categorias.id > 0).select():
response.menu.append((T(row.nombre), request.vars.category ==
row.nombre, URL('default', 'index', vars={'category': row.nombre})))
