In the ajax call, 'echo' is a relative URL, so it will be appended to the
URL of the current page. Instead, try using the URL() function:

<input name="name" onkeyup="ajax('{{URL('default', 'echo')}}', ['name'],
':eval')" />

In general, when you have an Ajax problem, it usually helps to open the
browser developer tools and watch the network activity and JS console. That
way you can see if the request was made as expected and what was returned.
