I do something different:
TAG.BUTTON('item list', _type="button", _name="whoami", _value=whoami,
_onclick='$("#my_items").html("updating
..");ajax("items.load", ["whoami","gname"], "my_items")',
_style="display:none", _id="list-a"))
(This is a quick clip out of a longer string; my controller returns a bunch
of HTML for this function.)
Note that I'm not using an input, I'm just using a load component.
