As I said, I've got the tutorial open.

So far, with just a couple of small projects to deal with, I've gotten by 
with using Beyond Compare when moving between Web2Py versions, and "pack 
custom" and scp to deploy on a second machine.

But that only works for small projects that I am intimate with, so a more 
general tool is a nice idea.  I've looked before at Chef, Salt, and 
(recently) Ansible, but a smaller hammer may be a better way to start.
